For the last few months, President Joe Biden has blasted former President Donald Trump, calling him a threat to democracy. On Saturday, Trump had his chance to fire back at the president’s comments.

On his two-day trip to Iowa, the former president stopped in the small town of Newton, where the fire marshall had to redirect some supporters to another room to listen to the speech due to the room being at full capacity.
While there, he took a shot at Biden, who has stated on several occasions that Trump will destroy America.
“This guy goes around and says I’m a threat to democracy,” said Trump. “No, he’s a threat because he’s incompetent. He’s a threat to democracy.”

Of course, Trump outlined Biden’s shortcomings in a way that only he can deliver. One of the areas he criticized the president was the southern border, which has seen records numbers of illegal immigrants coming in.
“Under crooked Joe Biden our borders have been absolutely erased. Millions of illegal aliens are invading us like a military invasion,” he said.
Trump also blamed Biden for the war in Israel, the Ukraine, inflation and the crime rate in Democratic cities. He said that it would have never happened if he were in office and that Biden is the worst president in the history of the U.S.
“We’ve got to beat guy, this fool, this fool that is destoying our country, he said, receiving a standing ovation.
The former president also addressed Biden’s comments about him being a dictator.
“I don’t want to be ripped off with trade deals,” he said in defense, emphasizing that he wants to have a great country.
It wouldn’t be a Trump rally if he didn’t insult the president. This time, he took a jab at Biden’s difficulty with steps, poking fun at how the president had to be escorted off the stage several times.
Trump had two other speeches in Iowa, one in Clinton. According to the December 2023 Des Moines Register/NBC News/Mediacom Iowa Poll, he is the top Republican candidate in Iowa at 43%, Flordia Gov. Ron Desantis (R) in second place with 19% and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) in third at 16%.
