Los Angeles Crowd Cheers For Trump During Surprise Stop At Ice Cream Shop

During a surprise stop at a Carvel Ice Cream Shop in Los Angeles on Friday evening, former President Donald Trump was met with a large crowd of supporters — who could be heard chanting “We love Trump” as the former president signed autographs and bought ice cream for the crowd.

Trump’s surprise ice cream stop came after he delivered a speech at the California GOP Fall Convention in Anaheim.

The crowd outside the Carvel Ice Cream Shop could be heard loudly cheering as the former president exited his motorcade — with numerous supporters and Trump’s team sharing footage of the moment on social media.

“Trump pops in for ice cream in LA and people are going crazy,” former acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell wrote in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter — sharing a video of the crowd cheering and chanting their support for Trump, as most of the crowd can be seen holding their phones up to capture footage of the moment.

Trump was also seen smiling as he signed pictures and hats for his supporters outside of the ice cream shop.

The Republican primary frontrunner then bought ice cream cones for his supporters, asking the crowd inside the ice cream shop: “Who wants a Carvel?”
One attendee posted a photo of his ice cream cone on X, where he called out President Joe Biden while celebrating Trump.

“Donald Trump bought me ice cream. Biden gave me $6 gas. The choice is clear,” he wrote.

In videos shared to X by Right Side Broadcasting Network (RSBN), Trump was heard answering questions inside the ice cream shop from reporters about California, the 2024 presidential election and the potential government shutdown.

“What’s your message to California?” one reporter asked.

“It’s in a lot of trouble, California, you’re doing very badly and we’ll turn it all around. The whole country’s gonna be turned around,” Trump replied. “Thank you very much, everybody, for being here.”

Responding to a question about the looming government shutdown, Trump demanded that Republican lawmakers “get tough” on the issue.

“Well you have to take care of the border, we want to take care of the border, we want to have a closed border. We don’t want people coming in from mental institutions, from prisons,” he added. “And I can see exactly what’s happening. The Democrats don’t want to do it, they want to run our country and they’re gonna have to make certain concessions.”

“When you have all of the damage done to the military, with the woke military. You look at Afghanistan. This is the most horrible period of time, I think, in the country’s history in terms of embarrassment,” Trump added. “The Republicans are going to have to get tough when you look at what they’ve done to weaponize elections. What a disgrace that is.”

The former president also explained that he would “love” to run against California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) if he takes Biden’s place in the 2024 election — noting that the elderly president is “trying to limp along” through the general election.

“What could be better than Biden? But I’d love Newsom if that works out. I don’t think it’s going to. I think Biden’s trying to limp along and try and get there, but it could be Newsom, it could be one of three or four other people,” Trump said.

As Trump’s visit ended, Carvel Ice Cream gifted him three cakes with his 2024 logo on them.
