Democratic Senator Caught Lying In Interview About Epstein Subpoena

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) found himself in an awkward position during an unscheduled interview with Fox News about releasing Jeffrey Epstein’s flight logs.

Fox Business correspondent Hillary Vaughn approached the senator earlier this week, grilling him on his refusal to subpoena Epstein’s logs to get the names of those who flew on the disgraced financier’s plane.

“It’s never been raised to me by anyone,” Durbin insisted. “It’s the first time anyone has raised it.”

It was at that moment that Vaughn stated that Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) had indeed raised the concern about the logs to Durbin.

Blackburn had asked for a subpoena for the logs during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on November 9, but was denied by Durbin.

On December 5, Durbin complained about Vaughn asking him questions and claimed he had not heard about the topic of releasing Epstein’s logs before. Blackburn corrected him, noting that she had brought it up in her amendments and the Committee last month.

“And since we’re in the business of issuing subpoenas now, here are a few more that I’ve filed,” Blackburn stated on November 9. “A subpoena to Jeffrey Epstein’s estate to provide the flight logs for his private plane. Given the numerous allegations of human trafficking and abuse surrounding Mr. Epstein, we’ve got to identify everyone who could have participated in his horrific conduct.”

The senator tried again on November 30 for a subpoena for the flight logs.

Durbin not only blocked Blackburn’s second request for a subpoena for Epstein’s logs, but her subpoena regarding Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor as well.

“This is a sad day in the history of the prestigious Judiciary Committee and further underscores the Left’s two tiers of justice crusade,” Blackburn said in a statement.

“Senate Democrats have long been trying to undermine the Supreme Court and Justice Clarence Thomas, but want to ignore Justice Sotomayor allegedly using her taxpayer-funded staff to coordinate speaking engagements in exchange for selling and promoting thousands of her books. They also don’t want to have a conversation about the estate of Jeffrey Epstein to find out the names of every person who participated in Jeffrey Epstein’s human trafficking ring,” she added.

Durbin’s actions towards the release of the flight logs have many conservatives wondering why the senator is trying so hard to keep the information hidden. The flight logs are believed to contain critical information about Epstein’s associates and the extent of his illicit activities.

There is some speculation that Durbin has been fighting to keep the logs sealed because he knows who’s on the logs, or he himself was in the logs. Whatever the case, many are wondering why Durbin is fighting so hard when Epstein’s victims deserve justice.
