Biden Administration Funds National Science Foundation Censorship Projects

The Biden Administration has been actively developing artificial intelligence (AI)-driven tools of censorship through the National Science Foundation (NSF) via a program known as “Track F.” Furthermore, the NSF has engaged in its own “misinformation” campaign to cover up these efforts, per a House Judiciary Committee report released this week.

Officially, the purpose of Track F projects has been to research “misinformation”. This has been a thinly veiled effort to censor online content. Internal emails obtained by The Daily Caller reveal attempts at removing videos that give details on these projects. The NSF also had a media strategy as part of the coverup which included specific conservative outlets with whom they would not correspond.

The House report stated: “The purpose of these taxpayer-funded projects is to develop artificial intelligence (AI)- powered censorship and propaganda tools that can be used by governments and Big Tech to shape public opinion by restricting certain viewpoints or promoting others.”

One project was to develop a “social media misinformation interactive dashboard.” Another was a study on “how technology influences [the misinformation] process, and how design might be used to alter it.”

In yet another Track F project, a group of researchers at M.I.T. was awarded $750K in NSF funding to determine who is most affected by “misinformation.” They believed that “conservatives, minorities, and veterans were uniquely incapable of assessing the veracity of content online.” Their final report recommended “effective interventions” to educate these Americans.

They determined that entire segments of the population lack the intellect to perform their own research on issues and arrive at valid conclusions.

Ordinary Americans who have read George Orwell’s 1984 may believe the NSF has fallen victim to “misinformation” itself. Namely – the NSF has mistaken Orwell’s cautionary tale for an instruction manual. Indeed, the activities of the dystopic “Ministry of Truth” as described in 1984 eerily resemble that of the NSF in the “Track F” efforts.

AI-driven censorship has clearly impacted online research in “Big Tech” tools such as Google’s search engine. Mainstream search engines increasingly bury conservative viewpoints many pages deep into the results. Right-leaning sites such as Fox News rarely appear on page one. Research on the 2020 election will produce only results which assert all claims of election fraud are “false”. A search for the risks of COVID-19 shots requires scrolling through dozens of sites to find objective content that is not wholesale denial of any dangers.

The internet is increasingly becoming a single-viewpoint resource, and Biden’s NSF has been a significant tool in keeping it that way.
