Texas City Council Threatens To Fire Employees For Not Using Preferred Pronouns

According to a leaked internal document from the City of Dallas, Texas, the Democrat-run city is now mandating that its employees use people’s preferred pronouns or risk being fired.

The document, which was titled “Workplace Gender Transition Protocols & FAQ,” is a list of the Dallas City Council’s expectations for employees regarding so-called “transgender” people — informing the employees that if they fail to follow the woke guidelines it is grounds for investigation, and they may ultimately be “disciplined up to and including termination.”

The woke guidelines state that city employees “are expected to respectfully use the transitioning employee’s preferred name and pronouns regardless of whether or not they ‘believe in,’ approve of, or accept” the person’s actions and beliefs.

The document describes transition as “‘coming out’ (telling family, friends, and coworkers),” changing their identity on legal documents, “and/or accessing medical treatment such as hormones and/or surgery.”

It goes on to state that “any employee has the right to be addressed by the name and pronoun of their choice” and claims that using an individual’s preferred pronoun is a “sign of respect for them as an individual” — adding that “refusing to respect an employee’s gender identity” or using the wrong pronoun for these individuals is a “form of discrimination and harassment.”

The new guidelines also mandated that supervisors help employees “adjust to using the new name and pronouns as soon as possible.”

When asked by Fox News for clarification as to whether they have provided exemptions for individuals who cannot use pronouns that do not match the person’s actual gender for religious reasons, the City of Dallas refused to actually answer the question — and instead just gave a generic response about discrimination.

“The City of Dallas is a safe and welcoming place for all residents and employees,” the city government wrote in an exclusive statement to Fox News. “The City prohibits discrimination and harassment of employees based on a protected category… Violations of these long-standing policies may result in disciplinary action.”

Dallas has also recently implemented new policies that allow transgender individuals to use whatever bathroom or locker room that they choose, regardless of their actual gender or the fact that they are making other individuals in that space uncomfortable.

According to the City of Dallas, these new policies were created by the city’s Office of Equity.

These moves come amid a nationwide backlash against transgender ideology, with Americans signing on to boycotts of companies that push transgender influencers and pro-trans products in their advertisements — while parents begin protesting schools that push the ideology as well.
