Video: Past Project Veritas Whistleblowers ‘Stand With James O’Keefe’

A group of whistleblowers who worked with Project Veritas over the years have released a video in response to the removal of founder James O’Keefe from the nonprofit, announcing that they will “stand with James O’Keefe.”

The now-viral video — which was originally posted on Friday by Zach Vorhies, who worked with Project Veritas as a Google whistleblower — features more than a dozen whistleblowers declaring their support for O’Keefe. The organizations that these whistleblowers exposed include CBS, CNN, ESPN, Facebook, Google, United Healthcare, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

In the video, the former whistleblowers each stated their names and the institutions that they worked for and exposed, following it up with saying: “I stand with James O’Keefe.”

O’Keefe, who founded Project Veritas in 2011, was reportedly removed from his position as CEO on Monday after being placed on paid leave earlier in February by the company’s board of directors — who have been facing significant backlash for their actions from both supporters and donors.

Soon after his removal, O’Keefe released a video of himself discussing his ouster with Project Veritas staff — providing details of the actions being taken against him and questioning the board’s motives.

Project Veritas — which was known for working with whistleblowers to expose malfeasance and corruption in large institutions, most of which were left-leaning companies — has been taking heat for the board’s decision since the news was made public.

On Monday alone, the Twitter account for Project Veritas lost nearly 200,000 followers — while O’Keefe gained many followers.

The phrase “James O’Keefe IS Project Veritas” has also been trending on Twitter, with numerous O’Keefe supporters declaring that they would no longer be supporting the organization.

Donors have also announced their intention to stop supporting Project Veritas, with some even demanding their money back.

Project Veritas donor Grant Cardone, CEO of Cardone Capital, accused the company of “deceptive charity campaign practices” — going on to demand a refund, stating: “Project Veritas Immediately send 100% of funds back today to all who contributed on 1/28/2023 and up to when O’Keefe was ousted!”

The board at Project Veritas has even reportedly sent an email to donors, essentially begging them not to abandon them. The “Project Veritas team” wrote in the email that they hope “you might continue to give us a chance. We can’t stress how separate the board’s role is from daily operations here at PV. We are still grinding and pursuing stories of great public importance.”
