Marc Benioff, the owner of Time magazine, has publicly criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for not responding to multiple requests for an interview. In a post on X, Benioff pointed out that Harris has not granted an interview to Time, despite every other Presidential candidate having done so.
“Despite multiple requests, Time has not been granted an interview with Kamala Harris—unlike every other Presidential candidate,” Benioff wrote, stressing that transparency is important, and Time publishes its interviews in full to offer the public insight into each candidate.
Benioff linked to previous Time interviews with Donald Trump and Joe Biden, highlighting the magazine’s history of giving candidates a platform. Harris, however, has yet to engage with Time, despite appearing on more casual media outlets such as the “Call Her Daddy” podcast.
Harris’ media choices have raised eyebrows, especially as her GOP rival Donald Trump continues to appear on more traditional conservative platforms, including Fox News. Harris is scheduled for her first Fox News sit-down interview this week with Bret Baier on “Special Report.”
Benioff’s criticism underscores the growing tension surrounding Harris’ media strategy as the 2024 election approaches. The vice president’s decision to avoid mainstream political interviews like those offered by Time has sparked debate about her public engagement.
