Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) has proposed the “KAMALA Act,” a new bill aimed at stopping federal funding from being used to support housing assistance for illegal migrants. Officially named the “Keeping Aid for Municipalities and Localities Accountable Act,” the bill is part of Biggs’ broader effort to curb what he sees as the misuse of taxpayer dollars on non-citizens.
During a segment on Just the News, No Noise, Biggs pointed to California’s recent legislative efforts, where lawmakers attempted to pass a bill that would have provided loan assistance to illegal migrants. Although the bill was vetoed by Gov. Gavin Newsom, Biggs said the proposal was indicative of a larger issue—American taxpayers being forced to fund benefits for illegal immigrants while many citizens struggle with housing affordability.
“We have a home shortage because we have so many illegal aliens in the country,” Biggs said, criticizing the rapid pace of illegal immigration under the Biden-Harris regime. The KAMALA Act would block federal funding from being used by states and localities to provide housing loans or assistance to non-citizens, ensuring that taxpayer resources are reserved for American citizens.
Biggs hopes that the bill will gain traction with the help of House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), who he believes could help push the legislation forward. With several co-sponsors already on board, the KAMALA Act is part of a broader effort by Republicans to address the financial strain illegal immigration places on American resources.
As immigration and housing issues continue to dominate national conversations, Biggs’ legislation is likely to become a focal point for those concerned about the economic impact of illegal immigration on American families.
