Only 17K Of 1 Million New Florida Residents Registered As Democrats

The vice chair of the Republican Party of Florida has revealed that the GOP is “obliterating” Democrats in the state, thanks to the one million net people who have moved to Florida since Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) first took office.

In an interview with Breitbart News Saturday, Christian Ziegler described the influx of Republicans to Florida.

“Out of a million, about half a million have registered as Republicans, and only 17,000 have registered as Democrats,” the Florida Republican Party vice chair said. “So we’re just obliterating the Democrats.”

The stunningly low number of Democrats migrating to the state represents just 1.7% of new residents.

Ziegler went on to note that he “did not believe” the shocking number at first, noting that he “had to go back and redo” the calculations because he just didn’t believe it.

Ziegler, who is currently campaigning to become the Chairman of Florida’s Republican Party, pointed out that the state is “battle-tested” and filled with many GOP “rockstars.”

“[Y]ou go really across our roster, we have a lot of rockstars, and my job as chairman would be to really make sure we’re all on the same page. We’re all moving forward together, we’re unified, and we’re ready to crush the Democrats in the November elections,” he said.

DeSantis’ numerous successes in recent years, along with the failures in Democrat states, have prompted many conservatives to move to Florida.

The Florida governor has led the charge against the left’s radical woke ideology — fighting back against their efforts on numerous fronts, including education.

Despite Republicans having a lackluster performance in the 2022 midterms, Florida Republicans saw great results — including DeSantis, who easily beat his Democrat opponent Charlie Crist with 59.4% of the vote.

“Florida was a refuge of sanity when the world went mad,” the governor said during his victory speech. “We stood as the citadel of freedom for people across this country and indeed, across the world. We faced attacks, we took the hits, we weathered the storms but we stood our ground.”

Since winning reelection, DeSantis has proposed “law and order” policies — including giving the death penalty to child abusers and proposing a plan to cut funding for universities who implement equity and Critical Race Theory programs.
