Musk’s Anti-ADL Post Mislabeled ‘Hate’ By Mainstream Media

A flurry of mainstream news headlines over the week accused Elon Musk of endorsing antisemitism and hate speech.

Liberal news outlets like The New York Times and Bloomberg excoriated the Tesla and SpaceX CEO, who owns X, for a recent post he made on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

They’ve alleged antisemitism as the reason for Musk’s agreement with a post criticizing certain “Jewish communities” for pushing hate speech against whites.

One New York Times headline breathlessly reported “X Races to Contain Damage After Elon Musk Endorses Antisemitic Post.” Another by Bloomberg baited progressive readers with the headline, “White House Condemns Elon Musk’s ‘Abhorrent’ Endorsement of Antisemitism.”

But did Musk actually give this post a signal boost this week because he’s antisemitic? Just in case anyone at a newspaper headquartered in a county that voted for Hillary Clinton is confused, the X owner was talking about the Anti-Defamation League.

For context Fox Business followed up on the story the next day after the tweets went viral. They included context from another X post Musk made on the same threat, but that got left out of most mainstream coverage:

Apparently Musk’s comments were not directed at all Jewish people, were not animated by hateful feeling or violent impulse, and were specifically aimed at the Anti-Defamation League, for its history of verbal attacks against the West and its many White majority nations.

In fact Fox Business was careful to clear up any confusion by including another quote from the X thread that adds more context. In it Musk said, “[T]his does not extend to all Jewish communities, but it is also not just limited to ADL.”

In another post the technology lover, engineer, and billionaire agreed with a commentator who claimed Whites have been “brainwashed” with a “false narrative” that their history is “worse” than other races.

As a result — the commentator wrote — Whites are not allowed “to be proud of their race.” “Yeah, this is super messed up,” Musk answered. “Time for this nonsense to end and shame ANYONE who perpetuates these lies!”
