It seems that many Americans, conservative or not, around the country are ready to ditch the current Republican leadership.
Only 28% of likely voters reported a favorable view of McConnell, and a whopping 61% believe the GOP needs a new leader, according to a new poll from Rasmussen Reports.
McConnell, who is the longest-serving Republican leader in Senate history, has indicated that he does not intend to give up the position anytime soon.
Numerous Republicans have expressed that they desire a new and younger leadership for Congress.
“Nobody, not Republicans, not independents, not Democrats in my state are happy with the leadership in Washington. I’m not either. So I’m on their side, not on the side of these guys,” said Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO).
The Missouri Republican senator expressed the same sentiment in a recent appearance he made on Tucker Carlson Tonight with guest host Tulsi Gabbard.
“We need good strong independent leadership that actually listens to voters and doesn’t just listen to the Washington lobbyists,” Hawley told Gabbard, a former Democrat congresswoman from Hawaii. “I’ll just tell you, when it comes to the GOP, the Washington Republicanism that cares more about Wall Street than it does about working people, it’s time for that to come to an end.”
Hawley: The Republicans weren't saying we're going to security the border. We need leadership in the Republican party in Washington. This is why I won't support Mitch Mcconnell for leader. We need new leadership and real convictions. pic.twitter.com/fh4YhMkmFd

Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN) appeared to agree with Hawley.
“I don’t think we’re generating the results politically or governmentally… we don’t have an agenda. We don’t have a business plan. That doesn’t work anywhere else,” he said.
Although less disliked, GOP leadership in the House remains unpopular as well. A total of 37% of voters favored Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for the position of House speaker, while a larger 46% want someone new.
McCarthy has reportedly attempted to win Americans over by promising he will investigate huge problems faced by the United States such as the border crisis and alleged corruption of the Biden administration. He has also said he will banish Democrat Reps. Adam Schiff (CA), Ilhan Omar (MN) and Eric Swalwell (CA) from their committee seats should he reassume the position.
The House minority leader has additionally called for either the impeachment or resignation of United States Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas over his incompetence in dealing with illegal immigration at the southern border.
