Kamala Harris Embarrasses Herself (and America) On the World Stage With Latest Speech

Vice President Kamala Harris was brutally mocked on Twitter after embarrassing herself — and the United States as a whole — on the world stage at the internationally broadcast Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit.

Harris has been known throughout the Biden presidency for her rambling, awkward speeches and ill-timed uncomfortable laughter. While this moment was free from her signature laugh, it definitely fits in the “awkward speech” category.

In fact, the vice president gave what was possibly her most embarrassing “word salad” speech ever during the event, using the phrase “work together” several times in a single rambling, incoherent sentence.

The speech was so cringe-worthy that many listeners argued it was worse than another infamous speech in which she repeated the phrase “the significance of the passage of time” over and over in the span of approximately 30 seconds while speaking after an event about high-speed internet in Louisiana.

“Our world is more interconnected and interdependent. That is especially true when it comes to the climate crisis, which is why we will work together, and continue to work together, to address these issues, to tackle these challenges, and to work together as we continue to work operating from the new norms, rules, and agreements, that we will convene to work together on to galvanize global action. With that, I thank you all. This is a matter of urgent priority for all of us and I know we will work on this together,” Harris says in a video clip that has been shared more than 3 million times on Twitter.

Harris’ embarrassing speech was quickly ridiculed by social media users, with many people pointing out that her speaking abilities are nearly as bad as President Joe Biden’s, who many have claimed is suffering from dementia due to his inability to form a coherent sentence on most occasions.

“Worst part of this is that it looks like it was actually a *prepared* speech,” said political commentator Lauren Chen.

“‘Work together… work together… work together… work together… work together… work together.’ Who’s writing these speeches?” another Twitter user asked.

“God help us. Even while reading from notes Kamala is an incoherent mess. This woman is just as embarrassing as Biden,” said another user.

Soon after the clip went viral, #KamalaTheClown and #KamalaWordSalad began trending on Twitter.
