Attorney Tony Buzbee has filed a lawsuit accusing Jay-Z’s Roc Nation and two of its lawyers of violating Texas laws by impersonating state officials and attempting to disrupt his legal practice. The allegations, which include claims of barratry, suggest that Roc Nation sought to undermine Buzbee’s efforts in cases involving Sean “Diddy” Combs.
According to the lawsuit, Roc Nation attorneys Marcy Croft and Quinn Emanuel orchestrated a scheme to encourage Buzbee’s current and former clients to sue his firm. The filing alleges that agents posing as Texas officials approached over two dozen clients, offering financial incentives to take legal action against Buzbee.
Jay-Z pleads his innocence while having his goons go through the trouble of illegally impersonating, posing as Texas state officials, contacting clients of the Buzbee law firm and manipulating them to file lawsuits against Buzbee's law firm.

One incident detailed in the lawsuit claims that Roc Nation agents flashed fake badges and offered up to $10,000 to a client. Buzbee also alleged that Croft was recorded explaining the plan, stating that some former clients had already accepted payments. “These folks overstepped and got caught in their illegal scheme on tape,” Buzbee said in a statement.
Roc Nation has denied the accusations, dismissing the lawsuit as a “pathetic attempt” to distract from unrelated issues. Croft also responded, calling the claims “fantastical” and vowing to have the case dismissed.
What is Jay-Z so worried about that he would have his team impersonate Texas state officials! The acts themselves suggest some panic, hear and ultimately guilt!!! Retarded sexual predator he must be? https://t.co/qf6j1ZdXw8

The legal battle stems from ongoing cases against Combs, who faces allegations of sexual assault and trafficking. Both Combs and Jay-Z have denied the accusations. The 2000 VMA accuser recently acknowledged inconsistencies in her account but maintained her claim that both men assaulted her.
Combs is scheduled for a pretrial conference in New York today as his legal challenges continue to unfold.
