American citizens are about to be subject to arrest by illegal residents in Illinois. Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed the shocking bill into law last week that allows foreign nationals who obtain work permits to become police officers.
Some are illegal aliens in the “sanctuary” state.
The misguided legislation stated that “an individual against whom immigration action has been deferred by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services under the federal DACA process is allowed to apply for…police officer, deputy sheriff or special policeman.
Just wait until NY governor does what Illinois governor just did… passings bill making it LEGAL for illegal migrants to become police… giving them the ability to arrest US citizens #Immigrants #police #IllegalMigrants #illegalmigrantpolice https://t.co/oPKgwZI9Ta

The Illinois Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) struck back quickly. “What message does this legislation send when it allows people who do not have legal status to become enforcers of our laws?”
The statement added, “This is a potential crisis of confidence in law enforcement at a time when our officers need all the public confidence they can get.”
The Illinois FOP emphasized that it is solidly behind prospective police recruits when their status as a U.S. citizen is settled. That is a logical and fair position that everyone can agree on, unlike allowing foreign nationals to arrest American citizens on U.S. soil.
Illinois is a leftist stronghold controlled by Democratic supermajorities in both the House and Senate.
In June, both chambers passed the proposal to open law enforcement positions up to thousands of illegals enrolled in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
Thousands of other foreign nationals are also eligible to wear the badge. One question should be asked. How serious is a nation when it allows non-citizens to arrest its citizens within its borders?
Sadly but not surprisingly, Illinois is not the first state to allow illegals to arrest U.S. citizens. Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom also signed legislation allowing illegal migrants to become law enforcement officers on the state, county and local levels.
The Golden State only requires that an applicant have a work permit from the federal government. And while that at one time carried some weight, under the Biden administration the program changed dramatically.
The current White House hands out these permits almost automatically to illegal aliens and those released into the U.S. interior after entering at the southern border.
