Elon Musk Predicts Legal Battles Under Kamala Harris To Shut Down X

Elon Musk, the owner of X and Tesla, warned that a Kamala Harris presidency could spell trouble for his companies. In a two-hour interview with Tucker Carlson, Musk said that if Harris wins the 2024 election, her administration would likely use legal means to shut down X, the social media platform he acquired in 2022.

“They’ll try to shut it down by any means possible,” Musk predicted, arguing that Harris would not allow X to operate in its current form. Musk has been a staunch defender of free speech on the platform and believes this stance has already put him in the crosshairs of the Biden administration.

Musk cited recent lawsuits against SpaceX and Tesla as evidence of government efforts to target him. The Department of Justice sued SpaceX in 2023 for allegedly refusing to hire asylum seekers, even though national security laws require the company to limit hiring to US citizens and permanent residents. Tesla, meanwhile, faces accusations of racial harassment in a lawsuit filed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Musk, a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump, suggested that these legal actions are only the beginning, and that a Harris administration would intensify efforts to silence dissent. He has contributed to Republican campaigns and spoken at Trump rallies, further aligning himself with conservative causes.
