Marc Lotter, CNN political analyst and former Trump 2020 strategist, said Democrats appear to be losing ground in critical battleground states, pointing to the early voting numbers as a sign that the “math doesn’t work” for them this cycle. According to Lotter, Democratic deficits across urban areas and among women voters could cost them these essential states.
Lotter broke down the figures, showing how Democrats are trailing by 1.7 million early votes in urban areas within battleground states. Urban areas have long been a Democratic stronghold, making this shortfall particularly concerning for the party’s hopes of securing wins.

He also revealed that women — a demographic the Democrats have traditionally relied on — are not turning out as needed. Lotter stated that Democrats are “down 1.4 million votes among women voters” in these swing states, an issue that complicates their path to victory.
Republican turnout in rural areas, however, has exceeded expectations. Lotter explained that rural voters “have overperformed early by 300,000,” boosting the GOP’s early numbers. This development could put Republicans in a favorable position, especially in states that determine the election outcome.
According to Lotter, Democrats typically rely on early voting advantages, while Republicans perform better on Election Day. With these numbers, Democrats would need a strong Election Day turnout to close the gaps.

If Republican voters turn out today, President Donald Trump could be positioned to win key states and potentially reverse much of the damage done by the Biden-Harris regime. A robust Republican turnout could secure these swing states and open a path to reclaiming the White House.
