It appears California Democrats have taken a page out of the Pete Buttigieg handbook and reverted to accusing non-human entities, or something that doesn’t possess the ability to think, of being racist.
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) released a proposal to install new regulations aimed at banning the use of all diesel-fueled 18-wheelers by 2040.
Those long-haul truckers are going to absolutely love stopping every 300 miles to charge their electric trucks.
At the core of CARB’s argument is how diesel emissions are a major health concern for people of color who live in low-income communities.
The proposal argues that said emissions “disproportionately affect low-income and minority communities due to racist zoning policies.”
Lucky for us, CARB went on to elaborate.
“Decades of racist and classist practices, including red-lining and siting decisions, have concentrated heavy-duty vehicle and freight activities in these communities, with concomitant disproportionate pollution burdens.”
“CARB has legal and moral obligations to lessen these burdens,” continued the document.
Virtue signaling is vital to Democrat messaging. Unnecessary, illogical measures like banning diesel trucks are only achievable if it’s turned into a “moral obligation.”
The proposal even insinuated that Black and Hispanic neighborhoods’ close proximity to the ports are somehow racist.
“Black and Latino populations experiencing significantly greater air pollution impacts than white populations.” “Communities in and around ports move much of the nation’s freight, and so experience pollution on a national scale in their neighborhoods.”
“White people bad, everyone else good,” most adequately summarizes Democratic talking points throughout the Biden Administration’s reign.
This begs the question, how are American truckers not dropping dead left and right? These asphalt cowboys spend days on end driving across the country in their diesel death chambers. It doesn’t add up.
A public hearing to discuss the proposal is scheduled for October 27th of this year. Let’s all hope that opposition to this ludicrous, harmful manifesto shows up in droves.
