Allies of Kamala Harris within the adult film industry have launched an aggressive campaign falsely linking Donald Trump to Project 2025, a conservative plan from the Heritage Foundation. The “Hands Off My Porn” campaign claims Trump plans to use this project to target the adult industry if he wins the 2024 election.
While the porn industry has circulated these claims, Trump has stated that he is not connected to Project 2025 and has focused his campaign on Agenda 47, a different platform that outlines his policy goals. There is no evidence that Trump supports the Heritage Foundation’s plan, and it remains a political tactic by Harris’ allies to create fear among voters.
Conservative leaders like Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) and Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) have been vocal about the dangers of pornography, particularly regarding its effect on families and children. But these concerns have nothing to do with a government-driven shutdown of the industry, as suggested by Harris’ allies.
Several states have already enacted laws requiring age verification for adult content, such as Utah, Arkansas and Louisiana. These regulations aim to protect minors from accessing explicit materials and are not tied to any broader effort to criminalize adult content production.
Harris’ allies in the adult film industry are using misleading information for political purposes, pushing a narrative that Trump is aligned with Project 2025, despite his clear focus on his own policy platform, Agenda 47.
